Abstract

Seeing the validity of many of the criticism of the Frankfurt School in these days, which we leave behind the first decade of the 21st. century ,causes two things. In one hand, it makes us the part of their frustration, on the other hand it reminds us that we should be aware of the reasons of this frustration in order to have a better future and only then we could change the current situation and the future. In this article, Frankfurt School which criticizes the era, the reason that manages the era and Enlightment in the 20th century, will be examined under several headings. First, the conception of the frustration of the school will be discussed in connection with critical theory. Later, the school’s claim about the magic of the reason will be evaluated within the framework of the discussions about the objective and subjective reason.
